We are Geology grad students at USF in Tampa, FL. We will be taking care of the bike from now on. Charlie (the former owner) was nice enough to let us have the site so that you the viewers/friends/family/naked pervert in their basement can keep track of our progress. This isn’t going to be a swift build up. In addition to being geologists, who take their time much like the rocks, we are also grad students, who often worry how we will feed ourselves. I’ll keep the fun coming folks.
Man for the last 2 weeks i have been sick and have not been able to start wrenching on my sporty. Brings a tear to my eye! My neighbor came over the other day and told me he picked up some tools so we could start putting the ol’ girl back togther. So i am hoping that this weekend i will have some new pics and some progress to report. Untill then i am going back to bed to cough and hack my brains out and dream about riding along the florida beaches with my ol’ lady on the back!

Well here it is! Boxed, bagged and rusty. The poor old sporty needs some love. It is defiantly not as bad as some basket cases i have seen. The motor is almost completely in tack, I need a new rear tire the wheel is all there just pulled apart. I order the repair manual for 1976 Harley Davidson Sportsters. I am glad the engine doesn’t need more work then it already does.

Found some pictures of the bike when it was originally put together. The guy I , well the guys ex-wife I bought it from told the guy that built it was an old auto mechanic and he died suddenly from cancer. So I have decided to put the bike back together like he had it.. I figured that he put so much into it and I had it fall in my lap its the least I can do. I also found a bunch of receipt, NEW SS CARBS, total of 3 carbs in the boxes 2 brand new, new cams, new lifters, bags and bags of new chrome. I have a couple shots of the mess on my garage floor and will probable post those tomorrow but they are on my wife’s digital camera and don’t feel like messing with it now!
